Endocrine and thyroid specialists refer their own patients to Wildroot — because it’s dosed the way they actually want it dosed: 100% of the daily intake, never the megadose, with the three nutrients most iodine bottles leave out.

What’s in the bottle
  • Iodine — 100% of the Daily Recommended Intake, in eight drops
  • Selenium — switches the thyroid hormone on so your body can use it
  • Zinc — helps your body build it and helps your cells feel it
  • L-Tyrosine — the other half of what thyroid hormone is made of
  • Tastes like maple syrup. No pills to swallow, nothing to choke down.
The shocking secret behind fluoride and thyroid problems

Fluoride and iodine are close cousins. They’re so similar that your thyroid can’t always tell them apart — so when fluoride is around, it takes the spot iodine was supposed to fill.

Fluoride went into the drinking water in 1945. Today it comes out of most American taps. It doesn’t flush out either — it builds up in you, year after year.

Here’s the part almost nobody hears: researchers found that fluoride caused thyroid trouble mostly in people who were low on iodine. The people with enough iodine were largely fine. Iodine is what keeps fluoride out of the seat it doesn’t belong in.

And it doesn’t leave. Fluoride settles into your bones and your glands and stays there. Somebody who’s been drinking treated tap water since the 1960s has had sixty years of it stacking up — while the one mineral that keeps it out of the wrong seat kept getting harder to find.

So they put more fluoride in. And they took the one thing that protects you from it out. You just weren’t told.

Why you’re short in the first place

In 1924 they started putting iodine in table salt. Within ten years, the neck swelling that ran through the Midwest for generations was basically gone. It worked.

For the next fifty years your bread carried it too. Bakers used an iodine-based dough conditioner — a couple of slices covered your whole day without you knowing.

Then in the 1980s the bakers quietly switched to a bromine-based one instead. It was cheaper. Bromine is another one of iodine’s cousins — and just like fluoride, it pushes iodine out.

Around the same time everyone moved to sea salt, kosher salt and pink Himalayan salt. They cost more, so people assumed they were better. Almost none of them have any iodine at all. Nobody puts that on the box.

Add it up and government testing shows Americans lost half their iodine between the 1970s and the 1990s. Nothing was ever banned. Nothing was ever announced. It was just swapped out while you weren’t looking.

What being low actually feels like
  • Cold hands and cold feet when nobody else in the room is cold
  • Hitting a wall at 2 in the afternoon like clockwork
  • Brain fog — walking into a room and forgetting why
  • Weight that will not move no matter how carefully you eat
  • Hair thinning at the temples. Dry skin. Brittle nails
  • Being told your bloodwork is “normal” while you feel anything but

Most people get told it’s stress, or age, or just how they are. It usually isn’t.

How to take it & one honest warning

Eight drops every morning. On your tongue, or in water, coffee or juice. It tastes like maple syrup, which is why people actually stick with it.

This isn’t a stimulant, so don’t expect a buzz on day one. What people notice over the first few weeks is quieter: the afternoon crash showing up later, or not at all. Hands that aren’t freezing. A head that clears up before lunch.

The honest warning. More iodine is not better. That’s exactly why we dose one day’s worth instead of the giant doses some brands push. If you have a diagnosed thyroid condition or you take thyroid medication, talk to your doctor before you start. We’re not saying that to cover ourselves — iodine really does move your thyroid, and that’s the whole point of taking it.

What Doctors Say

The Doctors Who Check For This Are Putting Their Patients On Wildroot

Your regular doctor doesn’t test your iodine — it’s not on the standard blood panel and never has been. These are the practitioners who do look for it — and this is what they’re seeing in patients taking Wildroot Iodine Drops.

Dr. Erik O. Nelson
Naturopathic Physician

Dr. Erik O. Nelson

On Wildroot Iodine Drops in practice

“I started putting the patients who came in exhausted with perfectly normal labs on Wildroot Iodine Drops. What I hear back a few weeks later is almost always the same — the afternoon crash is gone and they aren’t cold all the time anymore. It’s dosed the way I’d write it myself: a full day’s iodine in eight drops, not the megadoses that get people into trouble.”

Dr. Jayme Stephan
Naturopathic Physician

Dr. Jayme Stephan

On Wildroot Iodine Drops in practice

“Nine out of ten of my patients switched to sea salt or pink Himalayan years ago and had no idea they’d cut off their only real source of iodine. Wildroot Iodine Drops is what I put them on to replace it. They report energy and warmth coming back — and because it’s eight drops in a maple syrup base instead of another capsule, they actually stay on it. Compliance is half the battle.”

Dr. John Shah
Integrative & Longevity Medicine

Dr. John Shah

On Wildroot Iodine Drops in practice

“My patients drink fluoridated water and eat bromated bread, and both of those crowd iodine out. Wildroot Iodine Drops is the one I hand them, because it isn’t iodine on its own — the selenium and zinc are in there too. I’ve watched people who felt nothing on plain iodine for months finally respond once they were taking the whole formula.”

Dr. Lawren Chan, ND

On Wildroot Iodine Drops in practice

“The change my patients describe once they’re a month or two into Wildroot Iodine Drops isn’t dramatic — it’s that things quietly stop being hard. They stop needing the afternoon nap. Their hands warm up. They stop losing words mid-sentence. Most of them had spent years being told that was just getting older.”

What’s Inside

Iodine On Its Own Isn’t Enough. So We Added Three Things That Make It Work.

Most iodine bottles give you the mineral and nothing else — and a lot of it never gets used. We combined ours with selenium, zinc and L‑Tyrosine. Those three do two jobs: they help your body actually use the iodine, and they go after the fluoride and bromine that have been crowding it out for forty years. Clear those out and there’s less fighting your iodine for the same spot.

Iodine

Iodine

The one your thyroid can’t run without — and the one they took out of your bread and your salt. Ours is in a fast-absorbing liquid form, so it doesn’t sit in your stomach waiting to be broken down like a tablet does.

Selenium

Selenium

Think of iodine as fuel and selenium as the ignition. Without it your body makes the hormone but never switches it on — which is exactly why people take plain iodine for months and feel nothing at all. Selenium also helps your body clear out built-up fluoride and bromine.

L-Tyrosine

L‑Tyrosine

Thyroid hormone is made of exactly two things: iodine and tyrosine. Give your body only one of them and it can only build half as much. Most bottles leave this out entirely.

Zinc

Zinc

Does double duty — helps you make the hormone, then helps your cells actually receive it. Zinc also competes with bromine directly, so it keeps the seat warm for your iodine instead of letting the junk sit in it.

Bethany Corliss you wouldn’t. it’s not on a standard panel and they don’t test for it unless you ask. that’s how i ended up on Wildroot. i was tired for six years and got told it was stress every time

explain to me how a mineral nobody talked about for 40 years is suddenly the answer to everything. sounds like every other supplement pitch

Dale Whitcomb

Greg Paulsen it’s the opposite actually. they talked about it constantly — that’s why they iodized salt in 1924 and goiter basically disappeared. then processed food took over, everyone switched to sea salt, and bakers swapped the iodine in bread for bromine. nobody announced any of it

The Unbearable Symptoms Low Iodine Can Actually Cause:

Your thyroid can’t make a single hormone without iodine — and those hormones run almost everything. Tap any one below to see what running low actually feels like day to day.

Thyroid A Thyroid Running On EmptyWhat it feels like
  • You’re cold when nobody else is — socks in bed, a sweater in July, hands like ice
  • You gained weight without changing a thing, and nothing you try takes it off
  • Your hair is thinning at the temples and your nails split for no reason
  • Low iodine is the #1 cause of a slow thyroid in the world. Your thyroid is literally built out of it
Fatigue The 2 O’Clock Wall & The FogBlamed on everything else
  • You wake up tired after eight hours and you’re done by mid-afternoon
  • You walk into a room and forget why. You lose the word mid-sentence
  • You’ve started planning your day around when you’ll crash
  • Everyone tells you it’s stress, or age, or just how you are. For years.
Competition Fluoride & Bromine Sitting In Iodine’s SeatThe part nobody mentions
  • Fluoride and bromine are iodine’s cousins — your thyroid can’t tell them apart
  • Fluoride’s been in the tap water since 1945 and it builds up in you instead of flushing out
  • Bromine replaced the iodine in your bread in the 1980s because it was cheaper
  • Researchers found fluoride wrecked thyroid function mostly in people already low on iodine. Fill the seat and there’s no room for the junk
Follow the money Nobody Banned It. They Just Swapped It.Follow the money
  • Bromine was cheaper for the bakeries. That was the whole decision
  • Processed food runs on salt with no iodine in it — and processed food became most of what America eats
  • They sold you fancy salt at four times the price and left the iodine out
  • Then they told everyone to eat less salt, which killed the last source standing
  • Not one of those required a warning label. Together they cut America’s iodine in half
Hormones It Doesn’t Stop At Your ThyroidMood, drive & sleep
  • Your thyroid sets the pace for every other hormone you have — when it runs slow, they all do
  • Low mood, no drive, and a short fuse over things that never used to bother you
  • Sleeping badly, then waking up as tired as when you went to bed
  • Iodine also collects in breast and prostate tissue — your thyroid isn’t the only part of you asking for it
  • Most people spend years being handed something for each symptom separately, and nobody ever checks the one thing underneath all of them

What Actually Happens When You Put It Back

Tap each milestone to see what happens

Day 1 Your Thyroid Gets Its Raw Material Tap

The drops absorb fast — nothing has to be broken down first like it does with a tablet. Eight drops in your coffee and your thyroid finally gets what it’s been asking for. You won’t feel this part. Anything that gives you a jolt on day one isn’t fixing a deficiency, it’s just caffeine.

Week 1–2 The Afternoon Wall Moves Tap

Your thyroid decides how fast you burn energy, and that 2pm crash is what running slow feels like. This is the first thing most people notice — and they notice it backwards. Not “I have energy.” More like “huh, I forgot to need a nap.”

Week 3–6 The Fog Lifts Earlier In The Day Tap

Cold hands warm up. The brain comes online before eleven. Partners tend to notice this stretch before the person taking it does — deficiency comes on so slowly that you stop being able to remember the baseline.

Ongoing You Stop Running On A Deficit Tap

This is not a course you finish. The iodine left the food supply and it has not come back, so the drops are the replacement — two a morning, in the same pure maple syrup base, for as long as you want your thyroid supplied.

“I was cold all the time. Socks in bed, space heater under my desk in June, the whole thing. My husband used to joke about it. He’s the one asking me to turn the heat down now. Wildroot is the only thing I changed. I’ve already bought it for my sister and my mother.”

“Switched to pink Himalayan salt years ago because I thought I was doing the healthy thing. Found out it has basically no iodine in it — I paid extra to cut off my own supply. Wildroot put it back and the fog lifted inside a month. I keep a bottle at home and one in the truck now.”
